PLEASE SEE FUNAI F9TRD1 1994 9 INCH AC-DC

This is the same as Funai F9TRD1 or Symphonic TVCR9D1

I have worked on many of these.
The most common part defect is IC1012
(5V shunt regulator),

Note: than when the 5V regulator pulls too much current,
it also pulls down the 12v line.

The other common problem is the DC jack itself,
the easiest way to check this is to remove the
jack & see if all 3 legs are still connected
to the jack.
(very common for legs to crack off)

Note: that the low side of the AC line makes
contact with gnd. thru the DC jack.

As I mentioned in an earlier note:
The last LETTER in the model number IDs
the unit. Current model numbers are at "G" series.

Hope this helps.
By the way, these Funai units are also marketed as
Sylvania, Crosley, Aventura, Garrard, XR1000,
of course Magnavox.

All of the above brands (except Magnavox)
have a letter designator in the model number.

This makes it fairly simple to ID since
Funai only puts out 1 basic chassis per
model year of each size (9",13",20").
You can't use a 13" D schematic for a
reference on a 9"D..totally different,
other than the mechanism, which are
all the for each series.

later...
